Paid Summer Internship Opportunities
NJ TRANSIT

NJ TRANSIT is thrilled to announce the open application period for our paid Summer Internship Program! This summer, we aim to welcome 100 interns into a variety of exciting roles, including opportunities in IT, HR, Labor Relations, Accounting, Criminal Justice, and more!
All positions are now posted on Handshake, Simplicity, and other academic portals. If our summer positions have not been shared on your campus portal yet, please feel free to reach out to us—we'd be happy to assist!
We encourage you to spread the word to your students about these incredible summer internship opportunities. Should you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. Please note that students must be enrolled for the Fall 2025 semester to be eligible for these positions.

We also offer a more extensive Summer Internship program with the following details:

Duration: 10 weeks (June to August)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Form: Fully in-person and hybrid positions (We do not offer any remote positions) 
Compensation: $18 - $28 per hour, based on major and year in school
Eligibility: Interns must be enrolled in an accredited college or university for Fall 2025
Locations: Various locations, with majority of the positions based in Headquarters in Newark, NJ.
Extensions: Opportunities to extend internship into the Fall and Spring semesters
